Now that you and your loved ones have shiny new masks you probably want to know how to care for them
Most importantly: when you take off your mask treat it as if it were contaminated! That means carfully taking it off and putting it in the wash straight away!
- Don't reuse it before you have washed it!
- Wash at moderately high temperatures (60°C)
- Wash for a longer periode of time (meaning don't use the express setting)
- Depending on your colour choice you can use a bleach based detergent (viruses really don't like that kind of environment)
- You can theoretically go up the 90°C, but that might be impractical because you might shrink the other things you wash with it! It is also not really necessary, 60°C is fine! Check the labels to be on the safe side. (Btw towels, dish towels, cotton bedding etc can usually take higher temperatures, so wash your masks with them to avoid shrinking clothes)
- If your washing machine just has a hot or cold setting use hot. and don't stress about it.
